The Catfolk have one of the oldest kingdoms in the world. The Huris Empire rests on the southern continent of Oyricu near the entrance to the Frygian Sea. As a result of this the catfolk of Huris and the steppe catfolk are two distinct entities in modern times having differing governments and cultures.
the catfolk of the steppe adopted the local gods and holy ceremonies of the steppe elves believing in the god of the endless blue sky Shael, who exists in all things and manifests as various aspects across the world.
The steppe catfolk are divided into small nomadic clans that roam the open plains. Occasionally the clans will coalesce and form around a Khan who unites the steppe peoples to form a great nation.
